Yan has extensive clinical and research experience across healthcare domains, including human-centered digital health and AI tools, care model design, chronic management, patient engagement and caregiver wellbeing.
As a consultant, Yan has deep expertise in healthcare and technology sectors. She advised national and international digital health companies on strategic planning, dataset development, and high-impact AI applications across clinical care, utilization management, and product development. Her work included payer merger projects and collaborations with for-profit and philanthropic organizations to build business cases around the financial sustainability of healthcare innovations, providing her with comprehensive insight into stakeholder needs throughout the healthcare ecosystem.
Yan earned her nursing PhD from the University of Pittsburgh and completed advanced AI and machine learning coursework at Carnegie Mellon University, where she collaborated extensively with computer scientists to develop medical datasets and AI models. She is the co-founder of Moonworks, a deep tech company pioneering sovereign, human-centered, and scalable AI models designed for high-risk, high-trust industries such as healthcare. This entrepreneurial venture bridges her academic research with practical applications, ensuring AI solutions are human centered, clinically relevant, and technically robust.
She is currently pursuing a fellowship in Healthcare and AI at Stanford University.
